About
Us
Every organization wants the same outcomes: people who are engaged, teams that work together, customers who return and advocate. Those outcomes grow from how people experience the work.
Every conversation, every decision, every touchpoint shapes that experience.
LoveThatTM exists to help people design those experiences with intention.

Buckingham
Marcus Buckingham is one of the most influential researchers on human performance and strengths.
His work has reached tens of millions of people worldwide through
books, tools, and research used inside organizations at global scale.
He is the author of multiple bestselling books, including two of the most widely read business books of all time.
He is also a successful technology entrepreneur, building platforms and tools that bring this work into daily practice for individuals and teams.
For more than three decades, his work has focused on a single question:
What actually drives performance in real life?
Across that work, one insight kept emerging.
People respond to how their experiences feel.
When someone feels trusted, seen, supported, and able to grow, they show up differently. They contribute more. They bring more of themselves to what they do.
Don't you want to live a life where there is love in it?
Don't you want to find the love in what you do?
Don't you want a life that doesn't just happen to you—but one where you have a voice in shaping the experiences you go through?
Don't you think that a life more lovingly lived would be a better life?
Yes, of course, we can survive in a loveless, unloving world. It will function. It will work. It might make money. It might make things. But will it make life worth living?
We humans flourish under only one set of conditions: when we feel loved. When we encounter situations, small or large, that allow us to take off the armor that protects us from the harshness of the world.
And
when each plate of armor gets removed, we get a chance to express some part of ourselves. And then more of ourselves. And then the world gets to see all of us—individually expressing the best of ourselves.
What a wonderful thing that is.
I have spent most of my life focused on human excellence and human flourishing. What are the conditions in which a human can excel and flourish? And the other side of it: human uniqueness. Why are each of us so different in the way we flourish, in the way we excel, in the way we express ourselves?
Human uniqueness is a blessing. Human uniqueness is a feature. Human uniqueness is a gift.
How do we build our lives—at home, at work, and in society at large—so that we get a chance to express this uniqueness in a way that contributes to the rest of us? So that it's not just individualism, but each person adding their light to the sum of light.
I've spent more than 30 years researching how we do this. Seventeen years with the Gallup organization. Seventeen years after that building my own company, focused on human uniqueness and human excellence—in partnership with Harvard Business Press and Harvard Business Review—doing ongoing research into the conditions in which each one of us flourishes. A place we arrive at where every one of us can say: I love that! I love that teacher. I love that mentor. I love that team. I love that company. I love that movie. I love that song. I love that experience.
We as humans flourish under only this one set of conditions: when we, as individuals, feel loved.
This isn't soft. It isn't vague. It isn't careless. It's specific. It's powerful. It's strategic. And it's the most powerful predictive driver of all positive human behavior.
At LoveThat, that's what we're all about—here, there, always and forever.
